What is included in the mobile version of the popular VR shooter, Pavlov Shack, available in the Quest Store?
Pavlov Shack is the Quest version of the popular PC VR shooter Pavlov, which has become one of the best-featured first-person shooters in VR since its initial release in 2017. The VR game is compatible with Meta Quest 3, Quest 2 and Quest Pro and comes with an updated Modkit 3.0 for advanced modding.
The popular PC virtual reality experience is now available on mobile VR devices.
Pavlov, a tactical shooter game, has gained immense popularity in the world of VR gaming, particularly in multiplayer mode. With its resemblance to Counter-Strike, it quickly captivated the hearts of shooter enthusiasts upon its launch in 2017. A significant contributor to Pavlov’s sustained triumph is undoubtedly its thriving modding community.
For years, the game has provided support for the Steam Workshop on PC, which means that the community can continually create and share new maps and game modes. This year, Vankrupt Games expanded its successful brand to Sony’s VR headset called Pavlov Shack and even made it possible for players to connect and play together across Playstation VR 2 and PC VR with the release of Update 29.
Pavlov Shack was announced to launch on Meta Quest 3 in mid-October, ensuring a seamless 90 Hz experience. Currently, the VR game can be purchased from the Meta Quest Store for nearly $20, offering additional features to enhance the mobile Meta VR headsets.
Pavlov Shack on Meta Quest: Modding & new maps
Pavlov Shack has released an enhanced Modkit 3.0 on Meta Quest. This tool enables the utilization of multiple mods on a single server and the creation of various maps within the same modpack. It aims to facilitate quicker modifications of existing mods and the ability to separate game modes along with their respective maps.
Pavlov Shack will introduce three new maps alongside the existing 300+ maps. These new maps include “Harbor,” which depicts a small coastal town in Sweden, “Pinehill,” featuring a Canadian lumberyard, and “Container Yard,” showcasing a shipping container yard in Kentucky. Each map is tailored for different game modes such as Search and Destroy, Team Deathmatch, King of the Hill, The Hide, Infection, Gun Game, and One in the Chamber.
Pavlov Shack supports the following game modes on Meta Quest:
- “Search and Destroy”, a 5v5 competitive mode in which players must attack or defend a bomb target without respawning.
- In “TTT”, participants engage in a game mode where they must uncover individuals who are acting as traitors.
- “Zombies”, a cooperative mode in which waves of zombies attack with increasing difficulty.
- In the game “Hide and Secret,” players take on the role of a highly skilled hunter tasked with eliminating their opponents.
- “Prop Hunt”, a hide-and-seek game in which players can transform themselves into props.
- Additionally, there are conventional game modes in FPS (First Person Shooter) games like Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Gun Game.
