In a Japan of the future, humanity is fighting against a mech regime to survive. Your mission is to engage in intense hand-to-hand combat against waves of enemies and colossal foes. However, you are not alone. You are part of a team of four, accompanied by three other characters who can either be NPCs or controlled by other players. Even if a teammate is defeated, they can still contribute to the battle by transforming into a weapon that you can use. This allows you to access a variety of weapons such as axes, dual swords, and chainsaws. Additionally, you can enhance these weapons by collecting items dropped by defeated enemies. With each weapon having two different forms, the number of combat styles at your disposal continues to grow, providing you with various ranges and power levels to experiment with.

Buddy will be substituted by a Corgi in the DLC. Additionally, three fresh Horde maps will be accessible for free from March to May.
