Vuzix Corporation, a company that provides smart glasses and augmented reality (AR) technology and products, has recently revealed the introduction of the Vuzix Z100 smart glasses. Initially, these glasses will be available as a developer’s edition.
Built using the Vuzix Ultralite OEM Platform, these safety glasses-certified smart glasses are sleek and made for all-day wear, according to the company. The glasses will offer users a human-centered connection to AI and work process applications, and will enable them to receive critical updates, convenient workflow and task confirmations, and notifications in real time.
The Vuzix Z100 smart glasses can easily connect to Android or iOS IOT devices through Bluetooth. According to Vuzix, these glasses serve as a groundbreaking link between AI platform tools. With their AI capabilities, the Z100 glasses offer situational guidance to enhance workflows, enabling workers to fully experience the advantages of a connected workplace.
The Vuzix Z100 glasses have a lightweight AI interface that can enhance the data received from finger scanners, sensors, controllers, and other equipment. This data can be presented in a user-friendly format, allowing for easy access. Workflows that previously had limited user feedback due to device or process constraints can now be displayed on the user’s heads-up display, offering outputs that are centered around human needs and providing real-time updates.
Vuzix noted that the Z100 glasses are able to run up to 48 hours on a single charge, and pack heads-up waveguide technology into a sleek, fashionable form factor that weighs in at just 35 grams – the weight of a standard pair of glasses.
Advanced monocular waveguide optics, combined with Vuzix’ custom micro display engine, create a clear, transparent, monochrome image that can deliver important information from a user’s Android or iOS device, hands-free right before their eyes. Wearers get heads-up access to important task information, from language translation and closed captioning, to directions, health and workout status, messaging, workflow outputs, and much more.
The Vuzix Z100 developer’s edition is designed to support the creation of use case-driven applications. Developers gain access to the Company’s complete Android and iOS SDKs, Vuzix Connect demo apps, and sample code. Furthermore, Vuzix Z100 smart glasses come prescription ready.
Paul Travers, the President and CEO of Vuzix, stated that the Z100 is an advanced form of smart glasses designed for enterprise use. These glasses are hands-free and appear just like regular eyeglasses. The release of this product is a direct response to the high demand from enterprise customers who want a stylish and lightweight pair of smart glasses that can enhance their work processes with AI optimization software. Vuzix believes that customers from various industries and with different needs will find this product both fashionable and cost-effective, making it a popular choice for everyday use by workers.
This week at CES 2024 in Las Vegas, Vuzix will showcase its latest smart glasses, the Z100. To learn more about Vuzix and its augmented reality smart glasses, please visit the company’s website.
