VR modder Luke Ross has introduced a significant update to his VR mods that ensures a crisp and visually appealing image when DLSS is activated.
Luke Ross delighted his Patreon supporters with a Christmas gift. He launched a significant update for his R.E.A.L. VR mods that for the first time offers high-quality visuals with DLSS activated.
The following titles receive enhancements from the update:
- Atomic Heart
- Elden Ring (including Shadow of the Erdtree DLC)
- Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora (New)
- Cyberpunk 2077
- Ghost of Tsushima
- Ghostrunner
- Ghostwire: Tokyo
- High On Life
- Hogwarts Legacy
- Horizon Forbidden West
- Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered
- Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales
- Star Wars Outlaws
- Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
- Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
In a Patreon post, he elaborates on what the DLSS solution, which is “founded on a multitude of estimations, heuristics, and a real-time reconstruction of absent data,” can achieve and its limitations.
The primary advantage, naturally, is the high image quality, even in DLSS performance mode, and the approach demands no extra processing power. “Alongside the FOV enhancements, this signifies that for the very first time it’s becoming feasible to experience a game in VR with image quality comparable to 2D,” writes Ross. Another benefit is that his method is essentially universal and simple to apply for new releases.
Conversely, Ross notes that only users with Nvidia graphics cards that support DLSS will gain from the new software, and some scenes may exhibit artifacts. However, if the solution doesn’t perform as expected in certain areas, it can be disabled.
A second Christmas gift emerged in the shape of a VR mod for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, which also takes advantage of the DLSS improvement.
You can acquire his VR mods from Patreon, with a monthly membership fee of 10 US dollars.
