Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst specializing in Apple, reports a significant decline in Vision Pro sales, indicating that Apple may soon expand its sales to different countries.
According to Ming-Chi Kuo, a renowned Apple analyst, it is not surprising that sales of the Apple Vision Pro are declining. The estimated number of units sold ranges from 200,000 to 250,000. It was already anticipated that the Vision Pro, being priced high, would not achieve a large sales volume.
Although Apple has the capacity to produce hundreds of millions of iPhones annually, the Vision Pro relies on suppliers with smaller production capabilities. These suppliers can manufacture around 500,000 to 600,000 components per year. According to Kuo, Apple has requested an increase in production to meet the unexpectedly high demand for the Vision Pro, aiming for 700,000 to 800,000 units.
Apple may be preparing for international sales, despite a decline in sales within the United States. According to Kuo, the Vision Pro is predicted to be released in additional countries prior to the next Worldwide Developers Conference, which is scheduled for June 2024.
The Apple Vision Pro, priced at $3,500, is an extremely high-end VR headset that may not be affordable for many buyers. However, Meta released its Quest 3 before the Vision Pro, providing top-notch mixed reality experience at a considerably lower cost, approximately one-seventh of the price.
However, the micro-OLED displays of the Vision Pro, which offer a resolution of 4K per eye, are considered the top-notch option at the moment. Alongside this, Apple’s spatial computer features a distinctive interface that allows users to interact through gestures like look-and-pinch. Furthermore, it is equipped with the high-performing M2 chip, delivering a level of performance comparable to Mac computers.
