Virtual Desktop brings huge improvements for macOS and support for Pico Motion Trackers
Virtual Desktop received a major update today that improves the macOS streamer and adds support for Pico Motion Trackers.
Version 1.34 brings a brand-new streamer app for macOS, writes developer Guy Godin on X.

The streamer app now runs natively on Macs with Intel and Apple’s M-series processors, has a new UI and lets you create virtual monitors without the need for a third-party application. Simply press the trigger while pointing below the screen and select ‘Add monitor’. Meta Quest 3 supports up to three virtual monitors.
The update also features better support for different video formats, as well as the ability to launch the streamer app with MacOS and configure the root folder for videos. The new MacOS streamer requires Catalina (10.15) or later.
A Vision Pro version of Virtual Desktop is currently not planned “as nothing (on the headset) can be re-used”, writes Godin on X.
What else does the update bring?
The update adds support for the Pico Motion Trackers as well as AC3, Dolby Atmos and subtitles when playing local video files on the headset. Godin has also reduced HEVC 10-bit decoding spikes on AMD GPUs, fixed keyboard layout issues and fixed game compatibility with Contractors Showdown, Contractors, and Arken Age.
