AWE releases details of Vision Workshop, anticipates record number of Vision Pro headsets at the June event.

April 1, 2024 – Augmented World Expo (AWE), a provider of worldwide XR events, has recently announced that it will be hosting a full-day workshop for Apple Vision Pro at its 15th anniversary AWE USA event this year. The ‘AWE Vision Workshop’ will take place at the Long Beach Convention Center on June 17, 2024, immediately before the three-day AWE conference from June 18-20.

The Unity platform, one of the leading tools for creators to develop and expand real-time games, apps, and XR experiences on various platforms, will be sponsoring the workshop. AWE has stated that Unity will demonstrate and present the functionality of its platform in spatial computing, creating diverse experiences ranging from games and entertainment to practical applications like training for Apple Vision Pro. It is important to note that the event is independent and not associated with Apple in any manner.

Raven Zachary and Dom Sagolla, the co-founders of VisionDevCamp, will be leading the workshop. The workshop will include sessions conducted by experienced individuals who have developed pioneering visionOS apps for both consumers and enterprises.

“Apple Vision Pro not only sets a new high bar for spatial computing, but also promises to provide a lucrative ecosystem for developers hungry for revenue. So, we’ve assembled the very best instructors to teach anyone how to build for the Apple Vision Pro and harness those opportunities,” explained Ori Inbar, co-founder of AWE.

In addition to its Vision Workshop announcement, AWE also stated that this year’s Auggie Awards submissions are currently being accepted for the Auggie Awards. The Auggie Awards, a longstanding AR and VR competition organized by AWE, have introduced four additional categories for this year’s edition. The new categories include “Best Climate Change Solution,” “Best Content Creator(s),” “Best Education & Training Solution,” and “Best Web3 Implementation.” The deadline for nominations for the Auggie Awards is April 23, 2024.
