June 4, 2025 – Vuzix Corporation, a manufacturer of AI-enhanced smart glasses, waveguides, and augmented reality (AR) solutions, has announced this week a collaboration with Wyr.ai, a provider of extended reality (XR) and artificial intelligence (AI) tools, to unveil a novel AI-based quality assurance inspection platform that employs Vuzix M400 smart glasses.
According to the company, Wyr.ai’s platform utilizes XR algorithms and AI for automated visual quality control, thereby improving efficiency in product testing and inspection across a variety of sectors.
Features of the platform encompass automated carton counting, defect identification, barcode scanning, color and pattern recognition, productivity tracking, optical character recognition (OCR) for orders, and automated report compilation.
This solution empowers suppliers, manufacturers, and exporters to broadcast quality inspections live to buyers, preserving recorded proof for transparency, prevention of disputes, and efficiencies in shipping processes. Wyr.ai indicated its solution is relevant to industries such as toys, textiles, clothing, handicrafts, jewelry, and durable goods.
“Vuzix M400 smart glasses are a robust hands-free device that integrates seamlessly with our new platform,” stated Dicky Massey, CEO of Wyr.ai. “A standout feature of our solution is its capacity for real-time color and pattern matching to approved lots, ensuring more precise and efficient inspections. Our software creates immediate reports, significantly reducing hours of manual labor and enhancing productivity for quality inspectors. This results in substantial revenue savings and improved quality control effectiveness.”
Paul Travers, President and CEO of Vuzix, commented: “Wyr.ai is introducing a highly competitive productivity tool that should capture significant interest and demand in their target markets. We are thrilled to have our M400 smart glasses at the heart of their solution and anticipate growing our partnership with them.”
