Vrgineers Extends Involvement in Czech ICA Pact with Lockheed Martin

Vrgineers, a supplier of advanced virtual and mixed reality (VR/MR) training systems for pilots, has recently revealed its selection for an industrial collaboration project within the Czech Republic, associated with the nation’s acquisition of Lockheed Martin’s F-35 Lightning II aircraft.

This announcement comes after Vrgineers’ initial selection in 2024 aimed at bolstering the Czech Republic’s F-35 pilot training through the creation of unclassified next-gen simulators.

Vrgineers specializes in developing and producing TAA-compliant VR and MR headsets, including the XTAL 3 series and Somnium VR1, along with simulators tailored for pilot and defense training needs. Their headset offerings deliver exceptional immersion, while their range of simulators includes both portable and highly customizable options for aviation, racing, and ground force training.

As part of the Czech Republic’s Industrial Cooperation Agreement (ICA) with Lockheed Martin, Vrgineers, alongside 10 other participating companies and academic institutions, will secure funding to design and manufacture various components, systems, and equipment that will enhance the technological progress of the Czech military and industry as the Czech Air Force upgrades to fifth-generation fighter jets.

Vrgineers noted that its partnership with Lockheed Martin dates back several years, positioning Lockheed Martin as one of the first defense companies to evaluate Vrgineers’ next-gen virtual and mixed reality headsets designed for professional pilot training. The company also mentioned that their technologies have been integrated with Lockheed Martin’s simulation software over time.
