The French professional football team Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has officially unveiled a collaboration with beIN SPORTS to provide live Ligue 1 matches in virtual reality (VR) via Xtadium, a specialized immersive streaming service. This initiative, available solely in the U.S. as part of a pilot scheme, enables fans to experience select PSG games in VR.
This partnership positions PSG as the pioneering European club to rollout such a service, offering fans a pitch-side view of three matches from the club’s 2024/25 Ligue 1 season held at their home venue, Parc des Princes in Paris, France.
PSG’s Chief Innovation and Digital Officer, Jerry Newman, remarked: “Innovation is ingrained in Paris Saint-Germain’s identity, and we are delighted to be the first European football club to present this immersive experience, providing live Ligue 1 matches in VR to our fans in the U.S. This partnership with Xtadium and beIN SPORTS permits us to bring the thrill of PSG’s significant matches closer to our U.S. audience.”
The featured matches encompass:
- February 7, 2025 – Paris Saint-Germain vs. Monaco (final score: 4-1)
- March 16, 2025 – Paris Saint-Germain vs. Marseille
- May 17, 2025 – Paris Saint-Germain vs. Auxerre

Alongside live matches, the VR experience will showcase 2D highlights from PSG’s home games. Upcoming updates are anticipated to introduce further exclusive content like training videos, player interviews, and behind-the-scenes insights.
Antonio Briceno, Managing Director of beIN SPORTS U.S. & Canada, added: “As the official Ligue 1 broadcaster in the U.S. and Canada, we are excited to collaborate with Paris Saint-Germain and Xtadium on this unprecedented project. beIN has a long history of supporting French football, and we are proud to curate these broadcasts, offering a distinctive experience for both new and longtime fans of Ligue 1.”
Xtadium CEO Héctor Prieto stated: “We are incredibly eager to partner with such an outstanding soccer club to bring this new environment to fruition. Our aim is to create a zone where fans can fully engage with the soccer realm, feeling the excitement and passion of the sport in a completely novel way.”
The VR experience is currently accessible on Xtadium via the Meta Quest platform.
